Director Dr Alix Thom is an Employee Relations specialist and HR compliance and ethics leader with a proven track record in major and independent exploration and production companies, a major contracting company, and local government. A Fellow of the CIPD (awarded the Distinguished Badge of Merit), Alix is also a member of the Executive Board of the IPA (Involvement and Participation Association), and an Alumni of the Advanced HR Executive Programme, Michigan University.
During 20 years HR experience gained in BP, Cairn Energy, Wood Group and COSLA, Alix has gained hands on knowledge of change management, having implemented key policy changes, organisation restructures and key operational changes. In addition, Alix has developed and implemented ER strategy, managed TUPE transfers, dealt with asset divestments, collective redundancies, collective bargaining, and employee consultation processes.
As well as developing and delivering employee relations training to line and HR managers on a range of topics, Alix can provide advice and support in the management of tricky ER issues such as grievance, disciplinary and absence management cases. In BP, Alix was the Compliance and Ethics Leader for the HR function in the UK, training the HR community, coaching them in investigations and carrying out complex investigations in the UK and abroad.
